Valentine’s Day is coming fast and Rachael kicks it off with a visit from Diane Lane. So how does the Untraceable star enjoy the holiday with her husband Josh Brolin? “A romantic dinner,” Diane tells Rachael. “It’s the best.” “That’s what we do every year,” Rachael agrees. Diane has also worked with her share of appealing men, beginning as a teenager alongside Sir Laurence Olivier in A Little Romance. Even though she was young, Diane says she was still in awe of the legendary actor. “He said, ‘Call me Larry.’ I said, ‘I don’t think so. It’s going to be hard calling you Larry,’” she jokes. Since then Diane has appeared in a long list of movies, including two with Richard Gere and a new project on the way. “Rough day at the office,” Rachael chides the Oscar nominee. “And they pay me!” Diane shoots back. Her latest endeavor with Gere is a film version of the Nicholas Sparks novel Nights in Rodanthe. “It’s a heart tugger,” Diane says. But first she plays an FBI agent on the hunt for a cyber killer in the thriller Untraceable, which is not her typical fare. “I’m a bit of a chicken when it comes to being terrified in the movies,” Diane admits, saying she took the role in part for how it portrays women. “It was a genre that I’ve noticed often women are either the victim or they’re the prey … I loved this thriller because there was none of that. She was just a strong woman doing her job.” Rachael asks Diane if her daughter wants to follow her into the acting world. “She wants to be a model,” Diane says. “She’s taller than me already. She’s in my shoes.” And, she’s all ready to borrow those red carpet dazzlers in Diane’s closet. “She would say, ‘Mom are you saving that outfit for me from the show or from the ball or whatever the glamorous event?’ And I said ‘Yes, as soon as you fit into it,’” Diane says. “I didn’t think it was going to come at 14.” Author: tvwhiz2008 |
